Am I covered when I rent a car?

Yes, if you have full coverage on at least one car and you rent the car in The United States or Canada, However, we recommend that you purchase the insurance (called collision waiver deductible or CWD) from the car rental agency. If you don't purchase CWD you may be responsible for hidden charges such as the cost of the rental car while it is being repaired. Also, your credit card may be charged for car repairs until insurance issues are settled. Some rental contracts have strict limitations on usage such as driving the car off road. Read the contract before you decline the CWD.
